Why We Exist
Kivuti knew firsthand what it meant to be denied an education. But instead of letting that limit his life, he turned his pain into purpose—lifting others where he had once been left behind.
The KivutiKaara Foundation is a tribute to that purpose. We are here to ensure that bright young people have access to the digital tools they need to succeed
The KivutiKaara Foundation was established to honor and uphold the enduring legacy of Samuel Kivuti Ngari Kaara—a man of unwavering integrity, deep faith, and profound love for his wife, family, and community. Kivuti was a visionary who passionately believed in the power of second chances, especially through education.

Our Story
Kivuti’s own life was marked by sacrifice. Though a capable student, he was forced to leave school after Year Eight, following his father’s decision—a reflection of a time and place where education was not widely valued, especially in rural communities. He never forgot what he lost, and made it his life’s mission to ensure his children—and others—never missed out on the opportunities he had been denied.
He went on to educate all his children and became a staunch advocate for education, particularly for girls in his village whose families did not see the value in sending daughters to school. Kivuti often used his own resources to pay school fees for these girls, believing deeply that education could change lives.
Today, that same loss of opportunity continues—but not just from financial hardship or social barriers. Many young people are now held back by the growing technological divide. Without access to laptops, smartphones, or internet, they are unable to participate fully in school or higher education. Just like in Kivuti’s time, these students are being left behind—not because they lack ability, but because they lack access.
The KivutiKaara Foundation exists to break these cycles. We are committed to removing the barriers—both financial and digital—that prevent bright, determined young people from achieving their potential.

Reintegration into Education
We help young people who have dropped out of school due to difficult circumstances.
We provide scholarships to return to school or join vocational training, mentorship and counseling for academic and personal growth, and practical support, including school supplies, uniforms, and transportation.
Our work is guided by Kivuti’s belief that everyone deserves access to quality education and the tools needed to succeed in today’s digital world.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Modern education requires modern tools. We help provide the underprivileged with those tools
We provide laptops to high-potential, low-income students in their first or second year of university or college. These tools ensure they can fully engage with their studies from the beginning.
We loan laptops for up to six months to students in their final year who need devices to complete research projects, dissertations, capstones, and final coursework. This support helps students finish strong—and gives them the best possible chance to transition into employment or further education.
